NY Creates, in partnership with Micron, is launching a hands-on Industrial Manufacturing Technician (IMT) Apprenticeship Program designed to prepare the next generation of semiconductor technicians.
Train at the Albany NanoTech Complex, the most advanced semiconductor R&D facility in North America, and build a direct pathway to career opportunities supporting Micron’s historic U.S. semiconductor expansion.

Our established, NYS-registered IMT apprenticeship program will connect students to high-demand, high-growth careers in semiconductor manufacturing while building a strong talent pipeline for Micron’s future workforce.
What You Will Gain
- While working full-time in a cleanroom environment at NY Creates, you will receive paid, hands-on, on-the-job training
- Technical, related instruction through Hudson Valley Community College
- Mentorship from NY Creates staff, with ongoing engagement from Micron professionals

- A NYS Department of Labor Journeyworker Certification upon completion
- A guaranteed interview with Micron for a full-time technician role at one of the Micron locations
Who Should Apply
- High school graduates or GED holders (18+)
- Students from CTE or technical programs
- Individuals interested in advanced manufacturing and technology careers
- Candidates willing to relocate for future Micron employment opportunities
