The NY CREATES internship program provides students with hands-on training and practical experience in advanced manufacturing facilities, which prepares them for careers in the semiconductor industry.

NY CREATES offers multi-modal experiential learning internships at the Albany Nanotech Complex in Albany, NY.

NY CREATES Internship Details

Structure:

Summer: 8-week full-time residential internships.

Academic Year: 12-week part-time internships for local students.

Community college students are encouraged to apply!

Roles:

Cleanroom Operators: Manage wafer distribution, certify process qualifications, and collaborate with engineering teams.

Equipment Technicians: Support tool operations, perform maintenance, and troubleshoot equipment.

Facilities/Fab Operations Technicians: Ensure utility and systems support across the facility.

Mentorship and Support:

Interns receive guidance from a primary peer mentor and a secondary senior mentor, along with academic support from their home institutions. The program includes “Flash Mentoring” sessions with industry professionals to foster connections and a sense of belonging.

Shift Structure:

NY CREATES operates on a 24/7 schedule with 12-hour shifts. Interns are typically assigned to day shifts, with specific schedules for full-time and part-time positions.
