NY Creates, and its Albany NanoTech Complex, was featured in an article by Advanced Manufacturing.
NY Creates Communications Director, Steve Ference, spoke with Advanced Manufacturing: “Ference describes the site’s mission as threefold: ‘We engage in and support world-class semiconductor-based r&d and related partnerships. We facilitate workforce development and drive economic advancement. And we accelerate the growth of high-value, high-tech companies by attracting them to New York and supporting them through concept-development, incubation, and investment phases.’
“Albany NanoTech has more than 2,700 engineers, industry leaders, academicians and support staff on site, and has seen approximately $25 billion in public and private investments, Ference says.”
“The research conducted at the complex covers a range of emerging semiconductor technologies, such as advanced logic processes, advanced packaging, memory, heterogeneous integration, quantum-integrated photonics and more. And Ference notes that the site has produced ‘multiple world firsts,’ among them the first 2-nm chip components.”
