ADDRESSING WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT NEEDS
NY CREATES opens doors to high-paying, high-tech careers in New York State with programs for everyone—from high school diploma holders to Ph.D.s—and all levels in between.
Explore these programs and their impact below, from technical training opportunities, programming for veterans, internships for students, an introduction to innovation for K-12 students, and other ways you can learn about and get involved.
STUDENTS
NY CREATES provides undergraduate, high school and younger students with valuable opportunities to explore careers in advanced technology and semiconductor manufacturing. Programs include work-based learning for high school students and internships, bootcamps, and workshops for undergraduates.
FACULTY TECHNICAL WORKSHOPS
The EASEL Faculty Technical Development Workshops are designed to connect community college faculty with engineers and technical staff from NY CREATES and its industry partners. The goal is to enhance faculty knowledge of semiconductor fabrication and ensure they are prepared to teach the technical skills needed for the modern semiconductor workforce.
VETERANS & ACTIVE MILITARY
The Vet S.T.E.P. program, hosted by NY CREATES and funded by NSF, helps transitioning service members and veterans prepare for careers in the semiconductor industry. The 10-week program includes two weeks of hands-on training in topics like manufacturing, pneumatics, and electronics, followed by an 8-week internship with a semiconductor company.
